The NZIM Management Model integrates local and international management best practice including research of a wide range of international leaders in management thinking including, Jim Collins, independent researcher and author ‘Good to Great’, John Kotter, Konosuke Matsushita Professor of Leadership at Harvard Business School & David Ulrich, Professor of Business Administration at the University of Michigan. The model will evolve as new research becomes available.

The NZIM Management Model defines four key attributes of Management

  1. Capable Management

  2. Capable Leadership

  3. Capable Organisation

  4. Capable Governance

The NZIM Management Model
  • Enables managers to easily identify their and their staff’s development needs
  • Supports NZIM mentors in their role of helping protégés build their capability
  • Links development needs with NZIM education, training and professional development programmes
  • Acts as a foundation for the NZIM professional qualifications.
